Here are some answers to some of the more commonly asked questions we get at Inner Focus Physio. If your question is not below, or the answer isn’t quite what you were looking for, please feel free to contact us!

Do I need a Doctor’s referral to book an appointment?

You do not need a referral from your doctor unless your injury is related to a Workers’ Compensation claim, a Motor Vehicle Accident, or you are eligible to claim under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Do you accept all health funds?

Yes, we accept all major health funds.

Does Medicare cover Physiotherapy?

Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover Physiotherapy. However, an exception to this is when your General Practitioner refers you to Physiotherapy with an Enhanced Primary Care program. This will cover you for a sum of the total fee for Physiotherapy.

Why are your consultations 1 hour in length?

Compared to traditional Physiotherapy services that operate on a 40 minute initial consultation, and 20 minute follow ups, we offer 1 hour long consultations. This is because extra time is needed to hear your story, conduct a thorough examination and construct a tailored treatment plan. This increase in time means that cost per session is slightly higher than our competitors, but based on time-for-service, we are significantly cheaper than many practices.

How do you organize fee’s and billing?

Fee’s are payable at the time of consultation. If you are claiming the session through your private health insurance, then we will provide you with an invoice once payment is received. We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS, mastercard, Visa and AMEX. We can also accept credit card payments over the phone.

Do you accept Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans?

Yes we do accept Care plans from General Practitioners. You will be required to pay the full amount for your appointment on the day. We will provide you with an invoice for your Medicare claim, and your rebate can then be credited into a cheque or savings account through Medicare.. Please be mindful that the EPC plan will not cover the full amount of your consult.

What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday to Friday 7am - 7pm.

We are also open on Saturdays 7am -1pm for your convenience.

Can I drop in to the clinic to book my appointment?

As we do not have a reception it is best if you call ahead to book your appointment, rather than dropping in. We may not be able to adequately answer your questions if we are treating.

How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

The time can vary but if we are unable to find you an appointment in the time frame you require, we do have a waiting list which is reviewed daily. We will endeavour to find you an earlier appointment depending on your flexibility with dates and times.

Do I need medical imaging prior to booking an appointment?

Our Physiotherapists can advise you if further medical imaging is needed. If you have already had medical imaging done, you’re welcome to bring that into the appointment with you.

Where can I park?

All parking is free. There is parking out the front of the Clinic that as well as ample street parking available. Alternatively, there is parking in the IGA carpark nearby. If you are parking in the clinic carpark, please be aware that a chain is put up nightly at 6pm by premise security.

Do you offer classes?

We do offer 1:4 semi-private group sessions for people who want to work on their physical goals with guidance. However, it is recommended that you spend some time 1:1 with your Physio prior to group work so that you can develop a tailored program before jumping into a more independent environment.

Are the semi-private groups covered by health care?

Yes, the semi-private groups are covered, just the same as individual physiotherapy consultations.
